Brand Introduction
KOME is the combination of 'Korea' and 'home'. It is a brand that realizes Korean traditional values and formative beauty in the space of home. Kome puts "naturalness", Korea's unique value forward, and combines it with home-decoration to present craft and design products for all kinds of places we live in. Kome proceeds a project every year on a selected space in home. This year's space is the study. We present our new stationery collection featuring <Hanokche Pattern>, using the eaves of Hanok as a design element. This is Kome's signature design, and it features tradition blending seamlessly with the modern minimalistic sensibility.
Work Description
This pen holder features Korean consonants in a three-dimensional form, inspired by traditional Korean roof eaves (hanok). When viewed from above, you can see the Korean consonant 'ㅇ', while the side views reveal 'ㄷ', 'ㅈ', and 'ㅊ'. The curved lines reminiscent of roof eaves create a modern yet elegant appearance rather than an ornate one.
